CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Do you have an idea for a monograph or edited collection of essays on the history of warfare? If so, as a series editor of Warfare, Society and Culture, published by Pickering & Chatto, I’d like to hear from you.
The series focuses on integrating the actual business of armies and navies—military operations and combat—into wider social and cultural analysis. We are interested in warfare around the world since c.1500. (You can see the list of books published so far at http://www.pickeringchatto.com/series/70-warfare-society-and-culture)
You don’t have to have a fully finished product to contact us! If you have an idea, we’re willing to work with you to develop it into a product that is intellectually exciting and innovative, and that is marketable to scholars and academic libraries. If your concept is fairly fully developed, you can just send us a proposal (guidelines at http://www.pickeringchatto.com/publish/send-us-a-proposal). Or you can send me an outline of your ideas and we can dialogue about how to turn them into a book.
So, if you have even a sketchy idea for a monograph or an edited collection on warfare in the modern world, an idea you think is original, piquant or provocative, please contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
