9-12 April 2014
CFP deadline: 1st July 2013
The Universitary Institute of History Jaume Vicens Vives (UPF) and the Museum of History of Catalonia are organizing an international conference on "The Treaties of Utrecht: Lights and Shadows of the Peace. The Catalan resistance." This conference will be held in Barcelona, April 9-12 2014, and will be conducted in Catalan, Spanish and French.
Our aim is to analyse the significance of the Treaties and their aftermath in the field of International Relations and, more specifically, their implications for both Spain and Catalonia. The Congress will cover three main subject areas: firstly, the international context; secondly, the Spanish context and the consolidation of Philip V and the Bourbon regime in Spain; and thirdly, the Catalan resistance in 1713-1714 and the imposition of the Nueva Planta.
We are accepting one-page long abstracts until the 1st of July 2013. Please submit them to firstname.lastname@example.org. The definitive text of the communication should be ready before the 1st of December 2013.
