This panel is interested in what psychoanalysis can continue to tell us about the literariness of Renaissance texts, and about unstable senses of the self represented in Renaissance texts. It is also interested in how psychoanalytic approaches can engage with, complement, and inflect historicist approaches.
While Freudian and Lacanian approaches are welcome, the panel also encourages approaches drawn from a wider range of psychoanalytic theory.
