I am seeking contributors to the panel I try to put together as a part of the 'Women and Gender Network' at the 10th European Social Science History Conference to take place in Vienna, Austria, 23-26 April 2014.
See the CFP http://esshc.socialhistory.org/networks/women-and-gender
I intend to arrange the panel around women's experiences of living/surviving far away from their homelands. This might include ethnic deportations, forced labor in the Nazi Germany during the WWII, exile, refuge, etc. The papers could cover the wide range of women’s gendered experiences of building up and sustaining their everyday lives in an unfamiliar social, cultural or natural environment, under extraordinary circumstances (in refugee camps, special settlements, prisons, etc.).
A panel has to consist of 3-4 presenters, a chair and a discussant.
If you are interested to contribute your paper to this prospective panel, please contact me off-network (firstname.lastname@example.org) by sending a title and a brief summary of your paper (up to 500 words) along with your academic title, affiliation, contacts and a brief bio describing your research interests and recent publications no later than April 25.
The deadline for final submissions of the panel and individual preregistration of each panelist is May 15, so the sooner you decide the better.
Once the initial stage of collecting paper proposals will be completed (by April 25), I will inform the future panelists of the panel composition, so we could discuss the final panel title together.
