The Online Pittsburgh d-scribe Journal 'Health, Culture and Society' invites original research within the medical humanities and the sociology of disease. The journal boasts an international readership and an esteemed editorial board. Presently, papers are invited which focus on the perception of disease and the cultural contexts within which disease, and indeed symptoms, can have varying interpretations, be they within the context of traditional cosmologies, or modern scientific medicine.
Historical studies of health and wellbeing are also invited as are anthropological studies.
Manuscripts should be 7000-9000 words in length with full supporting bibliography.
The journal is geared towards promoting critical research and the geographical diversity of contributions.
