The Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation awards the D.B. Hardeman Prize for the best book published on the U.S. Congress from the fields of biography, history, journalism and political science. The 27th Hardeman Prize will be awarded in the spring of 2015 for the best book published between January 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014. Typically, the prize covers only a twelve-month period, but we have recently made some changes to our selection process so the 27th prize covers an 18-month period. Submissions will be judged on the basis of five criteria: (1) contribution to scholarship, (2) contribution to the public's understanding of Congress, (3) literary craftsmanship, (4) originality, and (5) depth of research. If you have one or more books you'd like to nominate for the Prize, please send either 12 paper copies or 10 paper copies and 2 e-books to Stephanie Savage, Director of Grants and Programs at the LBJ Foundation. The deadline for submission is June 30, 2014
