42ND ANNUAL MID-ATLANTIC REGION ASSOCIATION FOR
ASIAN STUDIES CONFERENCE AT UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE
“Asia’s Global Intersections”
November 1-3, 2013
This year’s MARAAS Conference, hosted by the University of Delaware, is organizedunder the theme of Asia’s Global Intersections. We invite participation from faculty,
graduate students, independent scholars, and professionals working in any discipline and in any region of Asia, particularly South and Southeast Asia. In line with our theme, we encourage prospective participants to think about Asian regional integration, transnational linkages, and Asia’s global impact.
We welcome submissions for:
• individual papers
• wholly constituted panels
• workshops on specific topics
• poster session presentations
Proposals for any of the above formats must be submitted to http://www.maraas.org by the deadline of Friday, May 17, 2013.

Review of submissions will be complete by June 17, 2013.
Following notification of acceptance, all presenters are required to preregister for the conference by July 1, 2013. Pre-registration by this date is necessary to take advantage of discounted pre-registration rates and for your name to appear in the program. The preregistration rate is $85.00 for faculty or independent scholars, $55 for graduate students, and $10 for undergraduate student presenters. In addition to the conference fee, these rates include the cost of a mandatory one-year membership to MARAAS and Annual
Business Luncheon on Saturday, November 2nd. After July 1, 2013, registration fees increase by $10.00.
Undergraduates who are not presenting are encouraged to attend and will not be charged if they show a valid college identity card.
