Florida International University (FIU)’s African and African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS) is organizing a conference entitled "Tourism and Pro-Poor Sustainable Development in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean: Comparative History and Policy Analysis" on the Modesto Maidique campus on Aprils 4-6, 2013. The conference will be opened by Dr. Harold Goodwin who will give the 2013 Chris Gray Memorial Lecture "What Can Tourism Contribute to Poverty Reduction in Africa?"
