The Mercurians, a SIG of the Society for the History of Technology (SHOT), offers a $1,000 grant to support archival research by a junior scholar in the field of the history of communication technologies defined broadly. Graduate students or recent postgraduates (no more than three years beyond the terminal degree in their field) are eligible. The winner(s) will be announced during the SHOT awards banquet in Portland, Maine, in October 2013.
This unique grant fulfills one of the Mercuriansí core missions: the encouragement of scholarship in the history of communication technologies.
