The Health & Popular Culture area of the MPCA invites proposals (or abstracts) for papers, panels, and presentations on any aspect of the intersection of health and popular culture. Topics can include, but are not limited to social construction of illness, health in the media, video games and health, and online support groups. Case studies are also welcome as are all research methods. Interdisciplinary perspectives are encouraged, as are discussions of new directions in health research and popular culture studies.
