Call for Panelists and Chair/Commentator for the 2013 Convention of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History
Greetings,
I am seeking panelists and a chair/commentator to participate in a session on race and sexual violence in the 19th century at the 2013 Convention of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (October 2-6, 2013 Hyatt Riverfront - Jacksonville, Florida).
My paper attends to some of the ways that white southern women committed acts of sexual violence against enslaved people in the nineteenth-century. I ask interested scholars whose work takes up the proposed panel theme and whose research might complement this paper to contact me via email at Stephanie-Jones-Rogers@uiowa.edu as soon as possible but no later than March 30, 2013.
The submission deadline is Monday, April 15, 2013.
