SCSC Panel CFP: The Reformation's 'Little Mouse': Assessing the Importance and Legacy of Wolfgang Musculus (1497-1563)
This panel focuses on the life, work, and legacy of the second-generation reformer Wolfgang Musculus. Musculus worked in the Reformation cities of Strasbourg, Augsburg, and Bern as a pastor, editor, composer, biblical commentator, teacher, and theologian. This year (2013) marks the 450th anniversary of his death and provides an important opportunity to assess the significance of this often-overlooked and under-appreciated reformer.
This CFP is for a planned session to be held at the annual meeting of the Sixteenth Century Society & Conference (SCSC) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, October 24-27, 2013.
Please send inquiries to the panel organizer Jordan J. Ballor (jordan.ballor@gmail.com) no later than March 1, 2013.
