The volume aims to discuss the representation of the migratory experience in contemporary cinema from the Portuguese-speaking countries. The essays will be concerned with these fundamental issues: What are the main questions that come to the surface when we deal with films that represent the migratory experience from the perspective of the Portuguese-speaking countries? How does these films represent the challenges and opportunities of displaced subjects? How do these films discuss the relationship between home, belonging and nationality? How the debate about the implications of the migratory experience is framed from a postcolonial perspective? What are the cinematic and philosophical solutions put forward by the films of this study when dealing with the representation of migratory experience? What are the regional or national differences among the different cinematic traditions represented in the volume? Along with national productions, how have transnational productions have contributed to the notions of identity and difference, as well as cultural unity, such as lusophony and lusotropicalism? Chapters should be written in American English and no longer than 8,000 words including endnotes and bibliography. Submissions should follow APA formatting style.
