The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Alberta will host the inaugural Alberta International Conference on Taiwan Studies (AICTS) in Edmonton, Alberta from May 24-26, 2013.
The theme of this interdisciplinary conference is "Taiwan in Dynamic Transition." The organizers seek papers concerning the following topics: Constitutional reform, rule of law, and party politics; cross-strait relations and nationalism; economic development and social change; media, identity, and gender.
Interested scholars should send a paper title and an abstract (under 400 words) to Dr. Ashley Esarey at taiwanst@ualberta.ca by February 20, 2013.
The University of Alberta will cover the costs of travel, lodging, and meals for selected participants.
