Summer institute for students interested in Chinese culture and history, and the changing landscapes in East Asian cities.
LEWI Summer Institute 2013 is a three-week summer programme that runs from 3 to 25 June 2013. Three courses on aspects of Chinese culture and history and on economic and cultural landscapes in East Asian cities, namely, "Introduction to Chinese Society & Culture", "Missionaries in Modern China" and "Urban Cultural Landscape", will be offered.
Field activities will be organized to explore Hong Kong, the Pearl of the Orient, with its unique blending of Chinese and Western socio-cultural elements.
Current undergraduate as well as postgraduate students interested in Chinese culture and history as well as the changing landscapes in East Asian cities, especially post-colonial Hong Kong, and who want to earn extra credits in the summer are invited to enroll in the programme.
