We seek a third panelist and a discussant for a Berks 2014 panel that analyzes the hyper-sexualization of women who brought gender equity lawsuits against their employers. One paper is about a single woman firefighter in Iowa City whose colleagues depicted her need to breastfeed her child at work as a sexual act. The other paper is about a single female Foreign Service Officer whose assignments in Africa were denied out of fear that she would be seen as a sexual object by her counterparts in the local government. We would welcome a third panelist with a paper on a related topic in addition to a discussant for the panel. The Berks will take place in Toronto, in Canada, from May 22-25, 2014. Please send a short description of your project or your interest in commenting to Beatrice McKenzie, Beloit College (firstname.lastname@example.org), by January 5.
