Call for papers
David Malouf is one of Australia's most celebrated authors.
Papers are invited for a one day symposium on David Malouf, his writing and its reception.
Papers that place Malouf's life and work in an international context, or address broad themes in his writing, the range of genres he employs, his relationship with the visual arts, music and theatre, or his influence on contemporary writers and culture are particularly welcome.
The symposium is presented in conjunction with the Association for the Study of Australian Literature; contributors to the symposium may be invited to expand their 20 minute papers to 4,500 - 6,000 word essays for publication in a peer reviewed journal in 2014.
What to send:
250 word abstracts should be forwarded to Dr Elaine Lindsay at MaloufSymposium@acu.edu.au, using the subject header 'Malouf abstract'. Submissions should include the author's name, affiliation, email address, title of abstract, body of abstract, and a short biography.
The submission deadline is 15 February 2013. Acceptances should be advised by 15 March 2013.
