We are open to submissions of papers, panels, roundtables, dialogues and performances on any aspect of the Beat Generation. This year we are particularly interested in presentations which concentrate on the Beat Generation and the idea of the image. Suggested topics may include: Beat art, installation, film, video, photography, animation, comics; visual representations of the Beats in the media; the Beats and image-making; image vs word; the Beats in the digital age; visualisation in Beat work; imagery in Beat poetry; the use of images in readings/performances.

We will also consider papers on other aspects of the Beat Generation. Suggested topics may include but are not limited to: the Beats and transnationalism; the Beat Generation in Europe; Beat legacies; the Beats in the wider context of American literature; Beat writing and politics; Beat work and gender; teaching the Beats across the globe.

The conference aims to match the spirit and mission of the European Beat Studies Network—to create an open and inclusive community of scholars and students, critics and enthusiasts, writers and artists.
