Session CFP: Gender and Sexuality in the Construction of Knowledge [working title], German Studies Association Denver, USA, October 2013
We seek papers from scholars working on gender and sexuality, including the appearance of bodies, as a component of disciplinary formation; contests over what is defined as knowledge or method; the use of gendered ascriptions in defining the proper characteristics of researchers and objects of study; and other similar topics linking gender or sexuality, power, and the construction of knowledge. Those of us organizing the session will provide perspectives from the histories of German economics, historiography, and philosophy in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The GSA considers papers in the areas of German history, literature, culture, politics and any other discipline with a focus on German-speaking Europe in any time period. The deadline for submissions is 15 February 2013.
If you are interested in joining us, please provide a short description of your proposed topic to Marynel Ryan Van Zee (email@example.com) and Falko Schnicke (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 11 January 2013.
