This is a call for papers for the "Humanity in a Technologized World" session to take place at the 2013 Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association (RMMLA) conference in Vancouver, Washington on October 10-12.
Please e-mail a short abstract to the session chair, Shawn Boyd (shawn.boyd@und.edu), by March 31, 2013. You will be informed about the status of your proposal by April 30, 2013.
This panel will explore aspects of humanity's relationship to a world increasingly characterized and dominated by technology. Contributions in the following areas are welcome:
*Discussions of literary works and films that engage how technology impacts human behavior and society
*Theoretical approaches to the intertwined nature of technology and human culture(s)
*Interdisciplinary explorations of the technologized world and the human role therein
