Abstract: The symposium will seek to improve our understanding of the history of the contacts between the built landscapes of early modern China and Europe. Using an‘entangled landscapes’ approach, we will consider the representations that best illustrate the complexity of these interactions. The symposium will include an exhibition at ETH Zurich (May 10-June 10, 2013): "Constructing Qing Imperial
Landscapes: Exhibition of the Qing Yangshi Lei Archives."
