To mark the 50th anniversary of the passing of President Kennedy, this conference will critically examine contemporary conceptions of JFK’s foreign policies, both thematically and regionally. It also aims to explore what current and historical perspectives on his foreign policy reveal about the legacy of the Kennedy administration’s engagement with the world.
We invite paper proposals on any topics on the foreign policy of the United States under JFK. While we encourage proposals related to the panel themes below, it is also possible to submit proposals on other themes related to JFK's foreign policy. Please submit paper proposals of 350 words to Matthew Alan Hill at matthew.hill@sas.ac.uk| and Luc-André Brunet at L.Brunet@lse.ac.uk|. Questions about any aspects of the submission process should also be directed to the academic convenors.
The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, 14 January 2013. An earlier submission is encouraged. Successful submissions will be notified by 25 January 2013. The conference will take place 13 March 2013 at Senate House, University of London.
