Unresolved Conflicts: Popular Movements and Ongoing Social Change
We are experiencing an era of history-making change. Popular movements regularly challenge institutional monopolies on political and social power across the globe. How do these contemporary movements compare with past efforts to effect social change? How do governments and other organizations react to mass demonstrations of disapproval for their policies or methods of enforcement?
These and other questions will be the subjects of the 18th
Annual History in the Making Conference, hosted by the Concordia University Graduate History Students’ Association. Taking place over St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Montreal, this year’s theme: Unresolved Conflicts: Popular Movements and Ongoing Social Change will address topics surrounding popular mobilizations and institutional reactions. We welcome papers from across all disciplines and areas of historical study. Papers in French are also welcome.

Corporate Culture & Consumerism
