Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon zum Thema „Stadtlabore“ am Donnerstag, 13. Dezember 2012, um 18 Uhr, in Gelsenkirchen – eine Redenreihe von Urbane Künste Ruhr zu urbanen Fragestellungen.

„Stadtlabore“ bildet den Auftakt der öffentlichen und regelmäßig stattfindenden Veranstaltungsreihe Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon, die Bürgern, Künstlern und Journalisten die Möglichkeit bietet, sich über Urbane Künste Ruhr zu informieren und ins Gespräch zu kommen. Der Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon bespielt und belebt einen Leerstand im Zentrum Gelsenkirchens. Jeder Salon lädt zu einem Schwerpunktthema ein. Der Erfahrungsaustausch und der offene Charakter der Reihe stehen im Vordergrund: Das Mitdiskutieren ist Teil des Programms.

Untersucht und hinterfragt werden sollen die unterschiedlichen und teilweise kontroversen Ansätze, die Bedeutung und der Effekt von Laboren und anderen experimentellen Stadtprojekten für den urbanen Raum – weltweit und regional. Corinne Rose, Künstlerin und Kuratorin des BMW Guggenheim Lab Berlin, und das Künstlerkollektiv KUNSTrePUBLIK (Mobile Labore Urbane Künste Ruhr) gehen diesen Fragestellungen mit Katja Aßmann, Künstlerische Leiterin Urbane Künste Ruhr, und anderen Experten aus der Region nach.

Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon on the subject of ‘Stadtlabore’ (city labs) at 18:00 hrs on Thursday, December 13, 2012 in Gelsenkirchen – a series of talks on urban issues by Urbane Künste Ruhr.

‘Stadtlabore’ is the kick-off to the public series of events Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon that is to be held regularly and offer citizens, artists and journalists the opportunity to get informed on Urbane Künste Ruhr and to enter into conversation. The Urbane Künste Ruhr Salon fills and livens a vacancy in the centre of Gelsenkirchen. Each Salon invites to a central theme. Exchanges of opinion and the open character of the series have priority: joining in the discussion is part of the programme.

The aim is to examine and question the varied, partly controversial approaches, the significance and the effect of labs and other experimental city projects concerning urban space – worldwide and in the region. Corinne Rose, artist and curator of the BMWGuggenheimLab Berlin, and the group of artists KUNSTrePUBLIK (Mobile Labore Urbane Künste Ruhr) will address such questions with Katja Aßmann, artistic director of Urbane Künste Ruhr, and other experts.
