Call for Participants: 2014 Berks panel on gender and disability

I am hoping to put together a panel for the 2014 Berks on disability history and gender. I am looking for papers that will complement my own, which examines disability and domesticity in post-World War II America, focusing specifically on rehabilitation programs and devices for disabled homemakers. The overall theme of the conference is “Histories on the Edge” and I envision submitting the proposal to the subcommittee on “Bodies, Health, Medical Technologies, and Science.” Other papers on technologies of the body are especially welcome, as are comparative or transnational approaches. I would love to locate two presenters, a chair, and a commentator by December 15. If you are interested, please email me at: laura.puaca@cnu.edu.
