Call for Papers: Russia, France, Egypt, Mexico, Venezuela, the United States, and South Korea are among the diverse countries to hold presidential elections in 2012. Polymath’s 2013 special issue on The Presidency is intended to bring together research from across academic disciplines. Scholarly papers from any discipline are welcome. Possible topics may include, but are not limited to:
• Recent presidential elections in countries around the world
• The role of the press or social media in presidential elections
• The presidency in new democracies or in non-democratic countries
• Depictions of the presidency in art, literature, music, or cinema
• Historical or geographical comparisons of presidencies
• Comparative architecture of presidential residences
• Symbols of the presidency
• Presidential dynasties

Call for Book Reviews: Scholars interested in reviewing books published in 2012 or 2013 related to the theme of The Presidency are welcome to recommend titles to Polymath’s editor, Dr. Susan Hume at shume@siue.edu.
Polymath: an Interdisciplinary Journal of Arts and Sciences is a peer-reviewed, quarterly journal. It is accessible without cost to anyone in the world with an internet connection.
