Professor Chakrabarty is Lawrence A. Kimpton Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of History, the Department of South Asian Languages and Civilization, and the University of Chicago Law School. He is also faculty fellow at the Chicago Center for Contemporary Theory. In July 2013, he will join the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
A brief reception will follow Professor Chakrabarty’s lecture.
*The Carol Breckenridge Annual Memorial Lecture was founded in 2010 in honor of our late colleague, Carol Breckenridge (1949-2009), a celebrated historian and scholar of global cultures.
