Panel Title: Feminist Literature and Film Gegen den Glauben/Against Belief (Women in German (WiG) Sponsored Session)

Panel Description: This panel will investigate how gendered or feminist perspectives shape, contradict, explore, or circumnavigate various Glaubenssysteme. Against can be read literally or figuratively: It can mean opposed to certain beliefs, but also mean something that comes in contact with or is adjacent vis-à-vis another thing. Some questions to consider would be: How have other forms of protest given women a voice? How do notions of gender inform reactions to, for, or against Glaubenssysteme? The central focus of inquiry will be how feminists and gender scholars have engaged with a diverse system of Glaubenssysteme.

Papers accepted in German or in English. Presenters must be members of Austrian Studies Association.
