Dear Colleagues,
The 2013 annual meeting of the South Carolina Historical Association (SCHA) will be held Saturday, March 16 at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Clinton is easily accessible from Columbia via I-26 North and Greenville via I-385 South.
The Association invites historians to submit papers on a wide array of topics ranging from Southern and American history to African, European, and Asian histories. Furthermore it encourages other topics, such as the history of education, science, and religion.
Presentations are limited to twenty minutes. Papers presented are eligible for peer review for publication in the association’s journal, The Proceedings of the South Carolina Historical Association.
Proposals for complete sessions should include three and no more than four papers. Graduate students are welcome to submit proposals. All participants must be members of the SCHA. For membership dues and privileges please see http://www.palmettohistory.org/scha/scha.htm.

The deadline for proposals is December 16, 2012. If your proposal is accepted, you will be notified by January 16. Deadline for submitting papers to session chairs is February 16, 2013.
Steve Lowe and Robert Figueira encourage Association members who wish to help in the editing of the 2014 issue of The Proceedings to contact them at lowesh@mailbox.sc.edu or figueira@lander.edu to express their interest. The current co-editors wish to insure a firm transition of editorial work for future issues to new co-editors.
