The event aims to bring together researchers interested in Central and Eastern European politics. This year keynote speaker will be Mr. Robert D. Reisz, researcher at Institut für Hochschulforschung, Martin Luther Universiy Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.

We welcome paper proposals from scholars on political topics in Central and Eastern Europe as detailed below. The proposal should be no longer than one page and it should include a short Curriculum Vitae. All selected participants will be informed before the 25th of November 2012. Selected papers will be published in a forthcoming volume of the Political Studies Forum, a journal edited by the Politics Department of the West University of Timisoara.

We are particularly interested in receiving contributions on the following topics: • Social movements in Central and Eastern Europe • Political ideologies in post-communism • The 1989 revolutions in political and historical context • Cleavages and party systems • The political economy of transition in Central and Eastern Europe • Development studies in Eastern European context • Elections and political parties in Central and Eastern Europe

There is no participation fee. Unfortunately, the organizers cannot cover the costs for travel and accommodation.
