The AVANI Journal of Geography is Peer-reviewed and Refereed journal, devoted to the publication of research papers in all the sub-disciplines of Geography and allied sciences. Research papers are invited on any of the themes involving the application of geographical research towards the solution of human problems. This may include papers on various issues and problems related to the environment, urban, rural, social, cultural, population, development and food security, as well as those concerned with the principles, policies and consequences of human resource management and allocation with the agenda of welfare.

Manuscripts should preferably not exceed 12 printed pages or between 2000-5000 words. They should be typed double-spaced on A-4 size page with 1.5” wide margin on left and 1” on the right. The research paper should be preceded by an abstract, not exceeding 150 words. Maps, tables and charts should be in black and white only. They should be serially numbered, sequentially, following references to them in the text. APA format of referencing should be used. Introduction and conclusion should be brief and state the relation to the present status of knowledge in the field.

The general format of the research paper should consist of : (i) Title (ii) Author(s) name and affiliation with email ID(s) (iii) Abstract with 4-8 keywords (iv) Introduction (v) Objectives (vi) Study area (vii) Data base and methodology (viii) Text-interpretation-analysis (ix) Conclusion (x) References (xi) Full corresponding address of author(s) with contact no.(s) and email ID(s).

Authors are requested to submit manuscripts in two hard copies along with a soft copy on CD in MS word file. The manuscript should be accompanied by a declaration letter that the paper is original and has not been submitted elsewhere for publication. The editorial board is endowed with full right to edit, trim and adjust manuscripts in order to conform to the review’s format. There are no processing or publication charges. One free complimentary copy of journal will be provided to the contributing author.

Deadline for Submission: To be considered for publication, research papers must be electronically sent on or before 28 February 2013.
