The 2012 CONTINENTAL CONGRESS Festival will be held November 26-28at Gov. Calvert House, 58 State Circle, Annapolis, MD. This comprehensive, free 3-day event will focusing on the years 1774-89 through a traveling, national exhibit of over a hundred items including rare 18th century manuscripts, letters, and printings that interpret the Continental Congress, United States in Congress Assembled and United States Tripartite Union Eras (1774-1789).
Opening Remarks will be provided by Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen and Maryland State Archivist Dr. Edward Papenfuse on Monday, Nov. 26 at 9:30am. Daytime and evening lectures by noted scholars in the U.S. founding field will complement author signings, book and souvenir sales, short films and special events for the entire family including walking tours of the State House. There will also be trivia, music and activities for college / high school students, middle school age and younger, with food samples and colonial costumes.
