The Passenger Train Historical Society will host a conference at the Quaker Square Station of the University of Akron's Quaker Square complex from November 9-11, 2012. The event will include papers and presentations on various aspects of railroad, canal, and industrial history, as well as a railroad dining car-themed dinner on Saturday evening. In addition to static displays on railroad history, the station will also have model railroad layouts of various gauges provided by local model train railroad clubs. There will also be field trips to various historic sites on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
