Slovo is a fully refereed, biannual interdisciplinary journal of Russian, Eurasian and East European affairs published by postgraduates of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, and covering the fields of anthropology, economics, film, geography, history, international studies, linguistics, literature, media, music, politics, and sociology. Slovo prides itself in giving postgraduates a chance to present their research alongside that of professional academics. The list of our former contributors includes Zygmunt Bauman, Geoffrey Hosking and George Schöpflin.
Contributions, including research articles, book and film reviews, and review articles are welcome from all research students and academics. Submissions to the Board of Editors may be sent via e-mail attachment (slovo@ssees.ucl.ac.uk), or on a CD in Microsoft Word format. All research articles must include a 100-200 word abstract and adhere to the MHRA Style guide in advance of submission (available for download for free from http://www.mhra.org.uk/Publications/Books/StyleGuide/download.shtml).
All manuscripts are refereed and undergo a review process. Contributions submitted must not be under consideration by other publications at the time of submission. The editors reserve the right to make any changes thought to be necessary or appropriate to typescripts accepted for publication.
The maximum length for consideration of an article is 6,000-8,000 words (including footnotes), and 700 words for a review.
The deadline for article submissions for Volume 25.1 is 5th November 2012 and 1st December 2012 for reviews.
