Ellen Gruber Garvey, author of "Writing with Scissors: American Scrapbooks from the Civil War to the Harlem Renaissance" (Oxford UP, 2012) discusses her new book. The talk will also include a display of historical scrapbooks from Duke's Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library. Garvey is a professor of English at the New Jersey City University. October 29, 5:00 p.m., Rare Book Room, Rubenstein Library, Duke West Campus.
