The Institute for International Studies at J. F. Oberlin University, in Machida, Tokyo, will be hosting an international conference called "The 2011 Japanese Tsunami: Disaster, Response, and Recovery" on October 18 and 19, 2012. Invited scholars from Japan, the United States, and the People's Republic of China will be giving presentations in English on various aspects of the disaster. The keynote speaker is Diet Member Itsunori Onodera of Kesennuma, Miyagi. The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Please see our website for further details.
