The World of the Civil War: A Daily Life Encyclopedia

This two-volume encyclopedia will include entries on all aspects of the social history of the American Civil War. The volume’s approximately 275 entries will cover the broad categories of Arts; Clothing, Fashion, & Appearance; Economy & Work; Family Life & Gender Roles; Food & Drink; Housing & Community; Politics & Warfare; Recreation & Social Customs; Religion & Belief; and Science & Technology. Individual entries will be 1000 words in length. The encyclopedia will be published by ABC-CLIO in 2014.

All contributors will receive full authorial credit, electronic access to the published volume, and a modest honorarium.
