The History Department of SUNY Fredonia requests proposals for a conference, “Shifting Paradigms in Religious Studies: History, Culture, and Practice,” scheduled for April 12 and 13, 2013. We welcome contributions in ecclesiastical history as well as interdisciplinary work, comparative religion, non-western religion, pre-modern topics, philosophy, iconography, and imagery. We will consider proposals for individual papers or panels; proposals that highlight new work being done in religious studies in both western and non-western contexts are especially welcome. Paper proposals should be no more than 500 words; panel proposals should also include a brief (250-word) summary of the panel and its theme. Please send proposals and a one-page cv electronically to Eileen Lyon, Department of History, SUNY Fredonia: eileen.lyon@fredonia.edu. The deadline for proposals is December 15, 2012.
