The 2013 interdisciplinary conference on Technology and World History will examine the development and impact of technology on the teaching and understanding of the history of the world and its peoples. The Conference Organizing Committee invites interested 4-12 teachers, college and university faculty, independent scholars, and graduate students to submit paper proposals on any subject, period or area of world history. Conference organizers welcome proposals that connect world history teaching and research. Possible topics could include, but are not limited to:

• Technology’s impact on world events

• Best practices in teaching with technology

• Impact of Technology on teaching world history

• Integrating digital resources into the classroom

• Debates on what to include in a World History course

• Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) for World History studies

• The role of social media defining and redefining identity and nationalism

• Digital World History projects

Proposals on any subject, period or area of world history or globalization from teachers, faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars are welcome. Proposals may include individual papers, collaborative projects or roundtable discussions of a topic or theme connected to world history. We encourage the submission of papers by promising undergraduates. We ask that the faculty sponsoring undergraduate papers submit the proposals for undergraduates.

Proposals for complete panels or roundtables of three or four presenters are encouraged. The panels and roundtables should be 1½ hours in length. Include your name, organization or institution, address, home and work phone and fax numbers, email address, working title of paper or presentation, and a brief description of the content.
