NeMLA Panel: Both Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris and the upcoming release of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby highlight the continuing influence of the literature of “The Jazz Age.” This panel seeks to deepen our understanding of “The Roaring Twenties” and to offer new approaches to its literature. Topics might include new approaches to Fitzgerald and/or Hemingway, The Harlem Renaissance, Gender and Politics, Working Class and/or Immigrant Writers, and the intersections between visual and literary art. Please send abstracts of 250 words to nancy.vonrosk@msmc.edu by September 30th.
