The School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina will host the second Media & Civil Rights History Symposium on March 21-23, 2013. This biennial event brings together civil rights and media historians to share scholarly knowledge on the vital relationships between civil rights movements and issues and various types of public communication. We welcome scholars from various disciplines, and we invite work that approaches civil rights and media history from a range of contexts, perspectives, and periods.
