‘Gender and History in the Americas’ is a new seminar series at the Institute for Historical Research, London. Held at 17.30 on the first Monday of the month from October 2012, the series offers a forum for speakers to present research investigating women’s and gender history from a hemispheric perspective that stretches from Canada to Argentina, Mexico to the Caribbean. The presentation of works-in-progress and contributions from postgraduate and early career scholars are particularly encouraged, reflecting our desire to create a series in which new and cutting-edge ideas can be shared and discussed in an intellectual and supportive environment.
