Name and school
The title of the nominated article
The article submitted in a Microsoft Word attachment
A one hundred-word abstract on the first page
Articles must conform to the following guidelines:
Between ten and twenty-five pages in length, inclusive of footnotes
Include footnotes and a bibliography in line with the current Chicago Manual of Style
Double-spaced with one-inch margins in 12pt Times New Roman font
Note* Please do NOT include your name anywhere in the document in order to preserve the anonymity of the author during the selection process.
Book Review Submission Guidelines:
Since the journal does not have a predetermined list of works to be reviewed, we ask authors to first contact the editorial staff with a prospective book to be reviewed. The editorial staff will promptly respond with the journal’s interest in a particular book. In seeking to publish reviews on recent scholarship, the journal requests that prospective reviews be on books published within three years of a given journal’s issue (for the 2013 issue we seek works published no earlier than 2010).
Reviews should begin with the authors name, book title, location of the publication, publisher’s name, and the date of publication.
Example:
H.W. Brands. American Dreams: The United States since 1945. New York: Penguin Press, 2010.
Reviews must conform to the following guidelines:
Reviews should be between 500 and 750 words
Quotes should be cited parenthetically
Double-spaced with one-inch margins in 12pt Times New Roman font
The Journal seeks reviews that focus on the author’s argument and offer critical analysis. When applicable, reviews should discuss how a particular work fits into a given fields historiography. All reviews should conclude with the name of the reviewer and their academic affiliation.
Deadline: Ongoing (to be considered for publication in the spring of 2013 work must be submitted by September 17, 2012)
All communications should be directed to ouujoh@gmail.com or to:
