Seeking a panelist and commentator for Society of Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR) conference 2013 in St. Louis. The panel currently consists of two scholars focusing on anti-dueling measures in in the early republic. One deals with the legal aspect while the other focuses on social reform and masculinity. Potential panel members should address some aspect of violence in the early republic, preferably on some form of anti-violence, but consideration will also be given to those who possess innovative research on dueling, violence, masculinity, religious opposition to violence, and many other topics on honor and violence culture.
