The Young Scholars on Turkey (YSOT) Program calls for individual paper proposals for its annual conference to be held on November 2, 2012 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The conference is sponsored by the SETA Foundation at Washington, D.C.
We welcome individual paper proposals on policy-relevant issues on Turkey from disciplines such as history, political science, international relations, public policy, economics, sociology, and conflict resolution. While papers can be from a broad range of topics, we emphasize that the subject matter should have policy implications.
Please submit a 300-500 word abstract and a short bio page as separate word document attachments to ysot@setadc.org by September 17, 2012.
The YSOT program will cover travel and accommodation expenses for the conference. Limited funding may be available for international participants. The conference papers will be published in a separate volume. The YSOT Program aims to facilitate dialogue and exchange of ideas between Washington based policy makers, scholars, and early career researchers whose research is related to Turkey.
