I'm looking for papers on the American West for the Southwest Popular Culture Association conference (March 13-16, 2013). The conference theme is "Celebrating Popular/American Culture(s) in a Global Context." I'm especially interested in papers discussing
• Popular Westerns or novels of the West
• Film Westerns or films set in the West at any time
• Gender/Masculinity Issues in “The Westerner”
• Race in the West
• John Wayne
• The Hispanic West
• International Visions of the American West
