The Pittsburgh Papers on the European Union proudly announces the publication of its first paper, “The Shaping of EU-Mercosur Relations: From Altruism to Pragmatism and Liberalism to Illiberalism,” by Carolyn M. Dudek, Associate Professor of Political Science at Hofstra University. New manuscript submissions are encouraged from all disciplines related to the contemporary or historical dynamics of the European Union. This could include domestic or transnational issues or relations among members, accession or candidate states or the EU within a regional or global context. All submissions are subject to double blind anonymous review.
Pittsburgh Papers on the European Union is an anonymously refereed, freestanding, web-based publication of the European Union Center of Excellence and European Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh. Under the editorship of Professor Alberta Sbragia, Vice-Provost for Graduate Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, this unique scholarly papers series is devoted to disseminating current research on the European Union, including its domestic, regional, and global contexts, transnational relations among new and long-standing members, accession states, and candidate members of the EU.
Upon final acceptance, Papers will be published electronically utilizing the Open Source Open Journal System (OJS). Papers will be available free of charge and without subscription costs. Metadata for the materials published in the Pittsburgh Papers will be freely available for harvesting by internet search engines, allowing for greater access by researchers worldwide through major indexes of scholarly research. Authors will be able to include links to documents, documentary collections, videos or other sources of electronically available information. The University of Pittsburgh Library System will be the official publisher, authors will retain copyright under license, and the Papers are housed on the Library’s OJS platform.
