We are inviting individuals from a wide range of disciplines including sociology, psychology, philosophy, law, criminal justice, religious studies, human rights, genocide studies, communications, and others, along with human rights leaders, policy experts, the legal community, government organizations, and non-profit groups to participate in a conversation on understanding and addressing fear and ignorance of the "other" and how these conditions manifest in hatred, intolerance, and inequality. The conversation will center on how these problems affect the pursuit of justice, approached through a lens of research, education, practice, and advocacy. There is a special interest on matters of racial inequality in the criminal justice system, among broader concerns within the conference theme.

We seek presentation and session proposals for paper dialogues, panels, roundtable discussions, workshops, poster/exhibit sessions, and other formats appropriate for this interdisciplinary conference. The deadline for the call for proposals is December 1, 2012.
