Symposium - Call for Proposals/Papers/Publications

Proposals are solicited for the 10th Annual Pikes Peak Regional
History Symposium, “Massacres of the Mountain West,” taking
place on June 8, 2013. Papers are invited concerning events in
the region that have been labeled as “massacres” by popular
description or have involved the killing of non-combatant
people. Exploration of this topic is intended to provide insight
into the perceptions of “villains” and “victims” of these events,
and how the term “massacre” is used to describe specifi c violent
actions. Topics may pertain to any massacre in the region, from
any time period, including, but not exclusive to the Pueblo
Revolt and the Mountain Meadows, Sand Creek, Meeker, and
Ludlow massacres.
