The Cuban missile crisis:when the world stood on the brink of a nuclear war.
Period: October 14-28, 2012 (14 days)
On Sunday the 14th of October 1962, the so called Cuban missile crisis began, a crisis, which represents the absolute climax of the Cold War. Together with experts of the Department of History of the University of Havana, the University of Cologne and Cuban contemporary witnesses, we will reconstruct the events in a 14 days seminar which includes a trip to Guanajay, San Cristobal, Pinar del Río, Isla Juventud and Playa Girón (Bahía de Cochinos)
